Mexican Quesadillas and Tacos

One of my very favorite foods because of its abundant flavor is Mexican food.  I’m not talking about that Taco Bell crap either, I mean real south-of-the border Mexican cooking.

Some of my favorite Mexican dishes include Quesadillas and Tacos, but as I said before they have to be made with fresh ingredients; none of that frozen junk.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. What does Mexican food have to do with Japan? I’ll explain. Back when I was living in Japan I could not find a good place to get Mexican food to save my life, and I spent a lot of time looking. I did eventually find one semi-decent place up in Chiyoda-ku, but I never did find a really great place. So, instead, I started making my own Mexican food at home; from time to time my friends and I would even have chili cook-offs and Mexican night. The picture here is of the enchiladas that I used to serve.

I’d love to hear what other kinds of food people have trouble tracking down in Japan, so send me your lists and I’ll publish ’em here.

  1. Thought provoking and interesting, thank you. I was brought up in mexico but moved to england at such a young age I barely remember anything apart from the delicious food and fiery people. I finally found some authentic mexican food if you want to have a look, I thought I’d share it with you!
